  • This Marc's is both awesome and infuriating. It would be 5 stars if I was allowed to shop there alone without having to navigate the incessant parade of cattle who populate the store. As a store, this is far and away the nicest Marc's in the chain. I'm not sure it's the biggest, but it's definitely got the best selection (sorry North Olmsted). I've bought meat in the deli many times without any issues, and the freshly butchered offerings have all been fine as well. The prices are lower than even Wal-Mart on most things and everything I've gotten there has been as fresh as you'd get at Giant Eagle or other markets. The employees seem to be split into two groups - those who have given up on life and those who take delight in making your experience as slow and irritating as possible. The managers either don't care what's going on or run the ship with an iron fist. The cashiers are all crazy obsessed with you putting those annoying "SOLD" stickers on stuff. The loss prevention guy (who clearly wanted to be a cop but couldn't hack it) has twice tried to stop me to search my bags and receipt, and both times I've walked right on past him. Remember kids, they aren't allowed to grab you and you do NOT have to let them poke through your things. To me it's like the store accusing me of stealing, and I take that personally. The only other seriously annoying part of this Marc's is the 12 Items or Less line, which they never enforce. I'm usually stuck behind some inconsiderate land animal with an overflowing cart who wants to pay by check. The cashiers say they can't enforce the express lane rules, but in North Olmsted they will make you back that cart right out and move.
