I purchased a used car for my son who attends ASU but we live in Ca. Because my husband was not close by to inspect the vehicle I purchased it hoping it would be OK. The car buying experience was great and the staff was very nice.
However, several weeks later I had a friend who lives in Scottsdale inspect the car just to ease my mind that there was nothing terribly wrong with it. He found that one of the bolts holding the front brake caliper was missing and the other was loose and damaged causing the front break pad to be nearly destroyed. Also the rear brake was not functional due to bad self adjusters. Fortunately my friend found these problems and fixed them before there was a disastor. He said that probably someone changed the brake pad and didn't tighten down the bolts.
These problems should have been discovered and either repaired or disclosed prior to selling the car. My friend said even a cursory inspection of the brakes would have shown these problems.
My son's life was in jeopardy the minute he drove that car off the lot and they should have known that. It is by the grace of god that the brake didn't fail completely and my son could have been in a serious accident.
They obviously just move out the used cars without inspecting them so I would never reccomend purchasing a used car from them because it could be a death sentence to anyone driving them!!
