| - I hosted a bachelorette party here last Friday. The decor is outstanding, Parisian chic. They party was planned last minute but they were very accommodating. We had our own area, with a lovely table where they allowed us to put out our own cheese tray. Great music selection, wonderful lighting. They have really aced the ambiance.
Our Irish bartender was charming and kept the pre-paid bottles of wine pouring. When the wine ran out, he made some fantastic sour Martinis!
The nails were good- the bride & I got shellac but I am going back 4 days later to have 2 nails fixed as they are peeling. My friends nails are still looking great. One of their estheticians was really a blast-(she did the bride's nails) her name is Judy, she deserves 5 stars.
The downside? Likely because they are quite new, the co-owner, Jeff, first offered us braids or blow outs which was a lovely offer; then a few minutes later one of the senior stylists said it would be % off the price. They acted like it had been that way all along. I thought maybe I misheard but the other girls heard the same. The fishtail braid that the bride got was amazing; but the 'beach waves' that I got were fuller and bigger than I had hoped, it was more like Penny Lane (from Almost Famous).
Lesson learnt to get things in writing: I was initially told that we could select the wine via LCBO and then pay 17.5% on top for corkage, but I failed to get that in writing... The two large bottles of Cono Sur Cab-Shiraz ended up being well over $100, they are $13.95 each at the LCBO.
Will I go back? Yes, absolutely. It's a perfect place for nails and a glass of wine. This morning, even though I am going to have two nails fixed, I am looking forward to trying their espresso and a macaron.
