| - This review was hard for me to rate, because a year ago I would have given them 5 stars, but the atmosphere of the place has really changed. Used to always come Tuesday nights with my husband for house music and drink specials. This was great, the DJ was awesome and super nice, and we got to know the bartenders who would always hook us with with a few free shots or free waters before our movie. However, they got rid of that Tuesday night promotion. Everytime I have been there lately the bar is literally nearly empty. Most of the bartenders I really liked seemed to have moved on, although the service is still very good. Most Scottsdale bartenders have an attitude of being too good for you, but I've never gotten that here. The drinks are good, if not overpriced. Not a fan of some of the spicy margs that are their specialty, but when the bartender recommended one that I really didn't like he comped it and got me a new drink. The atmosphere here has completley changed however. My husband and I used to often buy movie tickets to iPic, then end up having so much fun drinking at Salt we would return our tickets so we could stay longer. Now, we usually just come in about 20 minutes before our show starts to grab a few cocktails to take into the movie. Not sure what made it change so much, but maybe that area has just died down. I also noticed that the champagne bar next door had closed down, so it must just be a general decline in business/ the economy. I would still highly recommend stopping here before or after your movie at iPic for a drink, but wouldn't make a whole night out of just going to Salt Bar.
