| - I wanted to love this salon, I really did. The large majority of the reviews are raves, so I thought I found a curly hair salon who would be able to cut my curls beautifully and send me on my way. While curly cuts do take longer than normal cuts, this took an exceptionally long time, especially after being taken significantly late for my appointment, but I kept thinking, it will all be worth it. I walked in with a heavy head of hair, with curls that were lifeless because they were being straightened out by their own weight. I knew my ends needed to cleaned up, and there was some repair work to be done (my last cut butchered my curls into choppy layers) and I knew that meant losing some length. But when the stylist said she was pretty much done and there was barely any hair on the floor, I was irritated. There was no way I was going to pay $80 for a handful of snips here and there. So when I asked about a plan for fixing the choppy layers, she brushed it off, and when I asked the owner for some assistance, the stylist finally just took length off the bottom. So I left. And then I washed and styled it myself, and I saw all the straggly, uneven curls, and a cut that is shorter in the middle of the back of my head and gradually gets longer to the front like a stacked bob. Definitely not a style I wanted. While they definitely understand the prep and setting of curly hair, that's where the similarity to my other curly cuts ends. This cut should have taken out the weight and set my curl pattern free into the bouncy curls I have when it is cut well. So I'm down $100 and a good inch of hair with the same scraggly limp curls as what I walked in with. I'm super sad and disappointed.
