GREAT little park in the middle of Uptown Charlotte, across from the BB&T Ballpark where the Charlotte Knights play.
Now being in the Construction business (my company builds Nuclear and Fossil plants world-wide), we all laughed at how friggen LONG it took to build this little part. It was being constructed at the same time as the Ballpark. My boss, who's the VP of Nuclear Construction at my work, said he'd have fired them all! And why exactly is that? Because the built the entire BB&T ballpark in LESS time than it took to build this little park! That's why! Private contractors built the ballpark. The city government built the park. Need I say more?
OK, onto the park. Good use of Urban space in that they've put grassy areas, lots of tables and seats, waterfalls, and a place where musicians can play. I go here for lunch sometimes, as you can get some great food in the Latta Arcade (like Clover Joes which has no indoor seating) and take it across the street in the park.
Today we were treated to a really good guitar player (I play as well) so we got some good music along with some great food. And nice weather to boot! All in a very convenient location especially if you live or work in Uptown.
