  • We stayed here when we were relocating to Fountain Hills and had a decent stay not related to the Mayo. While I am not a fan of the Marriott hotels as I find them pretty basic for my business travel needs, what I like about the Courtyard Marriott are 3 things, their bed is decent, they take dogs at certain locations and I like the cafe that they have operating inside the hotel. Note that we had our beagle with us and there's a $50 up charge to the room rate. The layout of this hotel is kinda funky. You walk in and see the contemporary lobby living room set up with booths and bright colored seating areas with the cafe on the left side of the lobby and check in on the right. And then you check in...We had late check in and had to walk a bit to our room. It almost felt like we were trapped in a weird maze trying to find our room. In fact walking back and forth from the lobby to the cafe, we always passed the room as it's basically non descript. Anyways, the room was clean, bed not saggy and very basic. What you can count on is that the water pressure is okay, the shower is a plastic insert in some cases and def nothing fancy with their choice of toiletries. This will never be the fluffy towel or luxurious place to stay. If you want to order food from the cafe, I've tried most of the breakfast items and get this, they have Starbucks so it makes it easy to get fed and get on the road. The sunrise sandwich is good and reliable. For lunch, I like all their salads and club sandwiches as they're light and prepared nicely. Now if you're hungry in the middle of the night the pepperoni flatbread is pretty good too. Now I do want to add a disclaimer, at all the Courtyards, I never really know who is making my food, it's kinda a mystery as there's no visible kitchen and people seem to disappear through mysterious doors and then appear with the food 20 minutes later. So depending how which Courtyard you're at, the food quality may vary depending on who's cooking.
