| - Chicken Sikar! Can't go wrong.
Let me start off by saying that I am a meat & potatoes kinda-girl, and, although I have been wanting to try this place for quite a while, I was intimidated by the menu and a little concerned for the primarily veggie-based cuisine.
But.... Boy, was the food delicious & filling! I would happily go back every time I'm in town. And, the staff was very kind. I took my food To-Go & they offered me lemon-mint water while I waited on their outside patio. It was a great experience.
Couple of tips to get you started-
Most popular dish- Chicken Sikar. (Highly recommend!)
It comes with:
Dal = soup. I'm not sure if it changes daily or is always the same. Delicious, though!
Bhat = rice. Excellent method of consuming all the tasty juices left behind by the chicken & spices.
Tarkari = vegetable of the day!! No boring steamed stuff here! I had spinach (delicious with black eyed peas and potato with a hint of heat- although it's a mystery where it came and I am a big baby when it comes to heat) and a taste of the butternut squash (also fabulous). I'm not sure how they make veggies taste so good, but they do. :)
As a reminder, cash or check only, but the food is so good, it's worth any inconvenience.
I have a personal fondness for the country of Nepal and the plight their people are in, so, I was happy to kinda feel connected and support a business that is helping cultivate American's knowledge of Nepalese culture.
Excellent place!
