I stop in occasionally just to grab a quick wash because it's close. Yesterday I was the first customer and there were maybe two other cars behind me. I thought I might as well get a better wash because it might help if we ever get winter weather. I talked to the guy when pulling in and he said the express detail wax was the way to go. He said "It's hand applied." My car only has 8k miles on it so I asked about the bug splatter, etc. He said, "That will all come off. They will have it looking great." So I paid (or rather wasted $50) thinking I was getting an "express detail!". After about 15 minutes they said I was all ready. When I inspected my car I noticed they left a clear spray bottle with idk what fluid and a dirty rag sitting on my cloth passenger seat. He said, "Oh, sorry." I noticed the front plastic floor mats were still holding standing water, i.e. Not blown off. The dash and windows were not wiped. The front grill, bumper and hood face still had moderate caked on bug residue. I asked why and his answer was, "Once you start regular waxing it will make it harder for bugs to stick." I told him that was why I asked for the detail! He tried to hand scrub a couple off to no avail and offered to run it back through the wash. I declined once I found out the WAX they used was "hand SPRAYED on" since it would probably just take the damn wax back off. Save your money and DO NOT get the express detail. Get the regular wash with the liquid lava wax if you feel the waxed urge because it looks the same. Also, from what I can tell they even missed part of the roof.
