There wasn't a long line at this place during lunch on Monday. Overall the food is decent and edible, but the price is too high for what you are getting. Portion sizes are plenty. The flavors are a little more on the bland side, save for the overuse of cardamom. The spice level is about a 2.5 out of 5. Those who do not like their Indian food very spicy would feel at home here. If you're in a hurry and over on the South Church side of town then this place would do. Otherwise, keep walking and visit Nirvana II where you'll get higher quality for the price.
Chicken Tikka Masala was the best dish to my surprise. This chicken was a little on the dry side, but the sauce made up for it.
I don't recall the name of the dal/lentil dish I had, but it used a green lentil. This was more of a soup. It was very watery and quite bland. Steer clear.
The vegetable biryani was also rather bland. It appears the rice was pre-cooked and then a biryani paste and vegetables mixed into the rice, leaving most of it white without flavor. Capsicum/bell pepper was used in the dish which I think is uncommon. The chicken biryani also looked this way. I was hoping for some good biryani as there really isn't any good places uptown.
The naan wasn't bad. A little soggy, but had good flavor.
