My wife slipped on ice this morning and hit her head so as a precaution we came to the ER to get her cat scanned. Head injuries and possible brain bleeds are no joke my friend. Always get checked out even if you believe it's minor.
We had our 2 year old in tow and the receptionist at check in graciously rushed us through to get us and him out of the waiting area that contained multiple people with flu symptoms. We are grateful for that.
They took us back and finished the check in and a doctor and resident were there within 10 minutes. They checked her out and told her they were gonna give her a cat scan just to make sure there weren't any fractures or bleeding. Ten minutes after that a CT tech and student showed up and took my wife to be scanned. They were gone for about 20 minutes or so. It was hard to tell because I was dealing with a not so happy little boy at this point. Thank god for YouTube and the Disney app.
So about 20 more minutes passed and a woman showed up, didn't introduce herself, and immediately started the same line of questioning as the check in lady and I stopped her and said that we are already checked in and she snapped back and rudely said "I know, I'm a nurse". Ok B...next time follow protocol and introduce yourself and tell us what you're doing before you just barge in and start questioning. Anyway, she gave my wife some Tylenol and left. She popped in 20 minutes later to tell us everything looks good but the doctor wanted to talk to her and then we could go home. Good, great, awesome. Well another 20 minutes after that the doctor came in basically to hand us the paperwork and briefly explain it. I'm sure he had other patients but the ER was rather quiet. Overall was a good experience but there was A LOT of downtime. Could've been better, could've been worse. I still think this is probably one of the better options in the area for emergency care.
