Lost my business. I entertain a lot and my friends all enjoy sangria so I have started trying out new and different recipes. Among the almost $200 I spent that day was what I thought was a watermelon vodka only to find out (fortunately before I opened it) that it was watermelon cucumber. Ugh. So I put it in the table by my door but it was awhile before I could get back to the store. Went there tonight as I am having a party tomorrow and asked if I could exchange it for something I would actually use. Lady very coolly informed me that I could not and pointed to a no refund/no exchanges paper on the counter. Oh, and they couldn't take it back for "health reasons" but could have exchanged it if it had been the same day I made the purchase. The seal was intact, what's the difference? Smiths would have taken back a mistaken purchase. It's called customer service. I wasn't asking for my money back just an exchange. I replied ok and left. I'm not going to throw a fit to get a business to be nice to me. I left with my bottle, then went to Total Wine and spent my $200 there. So congratulations Liquor World. You get to keep my $10 purchase for something I will never use and lost a $200 sale plus all my future purchases. Great business practice. On the plus side, if you're over 21 and want a free bottle of watermelon cucumber vodka, you know where to find me.
