Today's visit to the apple store really turned my day around. I scheduled an appointment to have my iPhone 6 inspected only to show up half an hour late because of work and traffic. I lost my reservation for the genius bar which put me in a worse mood than the one I was already in. However, working in customer service has taught me to be a better customer and I agreed to wait another half hour to sit at the genius bar. That half hour was stretched to an hour and I was worried that I would not be able to get my phone repaired during my visit. Eventually, it was my turn to talk to an apple genius and I explained my situation. The employee listened with the utmost courteousness and I immediately felt at ease. When I told the genius bar employee that the phone needed a new display he told me that he could not replace it but astonishingly, offered to give me a new phone instead. Overall, I felt like the apple employees could not have been more accommodating. It certainly has motivated me to hold myself to higher standards as a customer service worker.
