During a Christmas Holiday trip to Las Vegas with my sister,we were staying at Paris Las Vegas Hotel but dined at several others. Most of these experiences were positive except one. We had attended a show at the Venetian and afterwards wanted to dine someplace we hadn't tried before. My sister had been to a Delmonico's elsewhere so we opted to go to the one close to the Sands Showroom of The Venetian. This was probably about 9:30-10:00pm and there were no other people waiting to be seated. When we approached the hostess she asked for my name and then replied "something" so quickly I didn't understand what she had said. My sister told me the hostess had said to have a seat in the bar until we were called. We did and were approached by one of the cocktail waitresses but we explained we were just waiting to dine and didn't want any drinks. When we were finally shown to a table in essentially a very empty dining room with MANY empty tables,we were shown to a VERY small table for two up against a wall. Before even being seated I said I'd prefer to sit elsewhere. Rather than accommodate us or explain why we couldn't have one of the other tables nearby we were told to go back to the bar to wait while they"checked"(?). At this point I decided we had enough but still said politely "no thanks,we'll just go elsewhere" and the hostess rather sarcastically replied "well, have a good evening" as we walked out. Her "attitude" was totally inappropriate and not only would I never go there again, but I would steer others away as well. There are plenty of other excellent restaurants in the many hotels in Las Vegas and many with a staff that provide excellent service. Delmonico's is NOT one of those.
