I've visited Thai Me Up on three separate occasions now, and the prompt, friendly service is the only thing keeping my review above two stars. The first two times were "meh." Both the satay chicken and enoki mushroom appetizers were unmemorable, as were my first two dishes.
During the most recent visit, my boyfriend ordered the Z-U noodles - they ran out of the noodles for that dish and they had to be substituted. Okay, no problem, I understand restaurants run out of things. But then my Pad Thai came out (I wish I would have read all of the poor reviews about the Pad Thai before ordering), but I could not have anticipated it to be so terrible. I took two bites and was finished. It was a giant lump of overly sweet noodles with a few pieces of rubbery, flavorless chicken mixed in. I wish I was exaggerating. I ended up paying for it, taking it home and throwing it away because I didn't have the heart to tell our (very sweet) waitress that I had no interest in taking another bite.
With so many other options in the South Side, I don't think I'll be back.
