I'm not going to lie, I'm a little disappointed in this place. I was always a fan of The Penguin, then once it changed owners my love went to Pinky's. The Diamond has similar stuff like Pinky's, but just doesn't get there. We first arrived on a Saturday around noon and we were seated immediately. Our server was fast and attentive (which is why I'm giving this place three stars instead of two). Our food came out pretty fast and I appreciated them making sure my two little girls got their food first. As a parent it makes my trip much easier when the kids eat first so they're not squirming around. I got them both a veggie plate which is a great option for picky kids. You can pick two sides for each plate, and both kids enjoyed it. We got fried pickles which is just like Pinky's and were fantastic as always. I ordered the Dixie chicken sandwich and was let down. The chicken didn't have enough flavor for being fried. I was hoping it would have more of a kick or something. It was a massive sandwich though, and had to take home the rest. I tried the pimento cheese fries and was completely disappointed. It had hardly any cheese flavor to it, and I could only really taste the pimento if anything. My husband ordered salmon patties with hush puppies and green beans with a biscuit. He said everything was pretty bland and was disappointed as well. Once he found out our bill topped $50 he definitely wasn't leaving happy. Considering how much the food is for the quality of it, I won't be returning here again. I suggest you skip this place and just go to Pinky's. You'll be much happier there.
