I was hoping the negative reviews were just people's unmet over-expectations but if you do not speak French expect the staff of this hotel to be rude, condescending and unhelpful. In fact for a $155 a night and in the grand tradition of the French all over the world, they treat tourists with contempt simply because they didn't bother taking French 101 in school. The hotel is situated in a very unsafe quarter of the city, many homeless people bother you as you walk around during the day (very few people in the streets before 8:30 am ) and even more creepy at night. Rooms are poorly decorated and dated, they charge you for refrigerators and microwave (!), breakfast buffet is $20 ( food is mediocre but pastries were not so bad), there is a small food court and supermarket connected to the hotel - its saving grace. Hotel has no parking but for $20 a day you get to park in the public parking of the adjacent mall which does not necessarily guarantee you a spot if the mall is busy. Needless to say we won't be back.
