| - I just had my first visit to H2O Salon and Spa this past weekend, and it was amazing.
Let me start by saying that I have really curly hair, and have had more or less bad haircuts my entire life. Not that my hair looked terrible, just that it often seemed uneven, didn't grow out attractively, and usually the hairstylist wouldn't account for the added "boing" after cutting, so it was usually shorter than I want. Not so with Angela at H2O! She was so wonderful; not only did she cut my hair in a way that I had never seen it done before (and I've paid the big bucks for a Deva Curl cut once before), but she took the time to remold all the curls using her hands after she had combed them out to cut it. She also took the time to diffuse it rather than sitting me under a blowdryer (which always yields a nice triangle-head look to my hair) or sending me outside to let it air dry into a ball of combed-out frizz. Thus, this was the first haircut I have ever had that I felt like it looked great walking out of the salon! Usually I have no idea what my hair even looks like until I go home and rewash it myself. Bonus: Angela was super nice, gave me a fantastic head massage while waiting for the conditioner to work, and the Eufora brand hair products they use at H2O smell lovely. AND the cost (while more expensive than great clips, etc.) didn't break the bank. I'd say this haircut was an effing steal at $35.
I went with my fiancé (a man who is actually very picky about his haircuts), who had his hair cut by Maggie. He reports that she was very nice too, and his hair looks pretty dapper so I'd say she did a nice job :-)
I'll be going back! I've already made appointments for my mom and I to try their facials this weekend.
