| - I've stayed here multiple times in the 80's, 90"s early 2000's and now again in 2015 although the hotel's appearance remains somewhat the same, mother time is catching up with this once majestic hotel that has defined the Vegas skyline for decades. This experience was less than comfortable and the amenities aren't close to what they once were in my opinion.
I stayed here two nights in the west tower during a business trip so the entertainment, casino and restaurants was not the attraction it was about comfort, location and proximity to the airport. Apparently this was my first time parking a rental car in their garage and it may be my last, the walk from the garage to the west tower rooms had got to be approaching a mile once you consider the route. I certainly understand the business model and by design they make sure you pass by every shop, restaurant in the hotel and finally you must wind through the casino with your luggage in hand to get to the most ridiculous elevator location one can imagine it's located at the furtherest point from the main lobby (from the car to the room was no less than a twenty minute walk carrying luggage).
West Tower Room 3-503 very simple room - semi private bathroom, no counter space so plan on leaving all all your toiletries in your luggage, the lavatory sink was a miniature with very slow drainage, a small glass desk, surprisingly comfortable bed and two chairs.
My issues - NO HOT WATER - it doesn't matter how early you wake up and turn the shower on the water will barely get lukewarm the same issue for the lavatory so expect a cold shave ugh! I don't want to hear did I contact the front desk the walk wouldn't be worth the trouble and there is nothing the maintenance department can do by coming up to the room this is a infrastructure issue that they know about it and further makes my point about this aging giant. Changing rooms you say - well we had multiple rooms and all had similar issues.
The lighting is good for sleeping not for reading, working or using the mirror above the lavatory.
The electrical outlets be warned your apple charger for your iPhone or IPad will fall out the socket.
Check in process - Although there are an ample number of stations for the hotel representatives to check in customers only 25% of them were being used we arrived late evening it still required about a 20 minute waiting in a slow moving line even though we had advance reservations, of course it's the up selling and marketing that's a priority here no regard for the customer needs apparently.
It pains me to write these kind of reviews especially for a place that once was so on top of their game. I will really have to consider other options in the future.
