No more schlepping to Oakey! Let's be frank; this downtown Summerlin location sucks. Back on the east coast I loathed TJs. It was either too small for the burbs or too big with lines that would wrap all around the aisles. But here in summerlin we are blessed with a reasonably-sized TJ with a decent selection of wines and well... everything else. (I kid, kinda)
Since learning that Aldi and TJ merged, I've appreciated the selection of euro imports a lot more. In Europe Aldi is derided by snobs from London to Berlin but name brands aren't always worth the cost, not even in Paris! Knowing that Aldi sources good stuff I'm happy to indulge in stroopwafels, lady fingers, cheese, olive oils from TJ knowing that we get the quality without the marketing.
In terms of layout, it's not bad. Luckily it's never been as crowded as the opening month and not nearly as crowded as the Spring Mountain location gets. I'm just glad that I don't walk a mile to grab produce, bread, wine and dairy as I would at Smith's or Von's.
Welcome to the hood, TJ and I'm sorry for the lousy review back home.
