We went to Moxie last night for New Year's Eve dinner. We started our evening with a leisurely drink at the bar which was quite enjoyable. Then, after a bit we moved to our table for our 7:45 pm dinner reservation. We waited a ridiculous period of time for an initial contact and drink order. The server apologized, said a number of tables were seated all at once and promised things would "smooth out." An hour and a half later the server asked us how our entries were. Huh? We were still waiting for our salads! The food (once we got it) was exceptional. If you like great food presented in interesting ways you MUST try Moxie! However, come with ZERO expectations about well timed courses.
We don't mind paying good money for a nice evening out. But when the bill for two approaches $150, please don't seat me at a table leaving me to look around and wonder whether a server has been assigned to our table. And please don't let my water glass sit empty.
Bonus points for the bluesy live entertainment and balloons that created a festive New Years atmosphere.
