| - Although I was traveling most of the day and did very little work, I was glad that the work day was over. I just want to nap for a little bit before heading to dinner.
My first work travel experience to Tempe I stayed at another hotel that is right on the AZ Mill parking lot. It was not a good one experience. So for this trip, I needed to stay at a Marriott brand hotel. And since I've stayed at a SpringHill before with a positive experience, I figured I better stick to what I know. And I'm glad I did.
Lobby area, nicely lit. My boss is a gold member, so he got a nice little snack bag that included a bottle of Smart water, milano cookies and chips.
We make our way up the elevators to our room. Elevator is nicely lit as well.
We get to our floor. The hallway is a little narrower than what I'm accustomed to, but not big deal.
My boss says, I'll meet you in the lobby at 6 for dinner and says I'm going down to the gym to run for a little bit. Got it. See you later boss as he makes his way down to his room.
With some hesitancy, I walk into my room and thank God, it is nice and clean, including the furnishings. I even took panoramic pictures of the room from every angle so I could text it to my husband just so he knows that I'll be safe here.
One of the next things I needed to check for is to make sure that the fitted sheet was changed out as my experience at the other hotel, they didn't. So I pull off the covers to find new sheets. Yay. I'm going to nap.
I get up from my nap feeling hungry. Time to get cleaned up. It was nice to see they have Paul Mitchell shampoo, conditioner and soap bars.
I left my room a little earlier to check out some of the amenities. As I stepped into the hallway, I smelled food. Whose cooking? We only have a microwave in our room. As I get down stairs, they have a popcorn making machine and bags of popcorn already made. Since I'm hungry, I'm going to snack a little bit.
I did a quick peak into the gym. It is small, but looks clean. And the pool area seemed nice and quiet. I learned later that there is a flight school nearby for Mesa Airlines that the flight attendants in training stay at this hotel. Students can be found studying in the dining or pool area. That's really good to know. I feel safer already.
Getting back from dinner and getting ready for bed. The shower has good pressure and water heats up quickly. Hair dryer on high sounds like a jet engine and ready to take off, so medium speed it is.
Pillows could be less fluffy and a littler firmer. But I still had a decent nights sleep.
As for TV, I was able to get the NFL channel and watch the last of the KC @ Raider game. That was a crazy game.
Wi-Fi speed seemed good while using my mobile phone. I wasn't assigned a laptop for work so I couldn't say if wi-fi is good for business needs.
Unfortunately, I didn't have breakfast, even if it was available as I had leftovers from the night before. But it probably isn't anything spectacular and probably comparable to other full breakfasts provided by other hotels.
And lastly, an important part for every company, customer service was great.
So on my next visit, I'll for sure will be staying here again.
