| - I have to start off by saying that I love my haircut and I think that Steve did a great job. I went in not really knowing what I wanted but Steve asked me a few questions to find out a little bit more about my style and what I was looking for. We agreed on the idea before heading to the sink. After washing my hair he saw that it was curly (I straighten my hair) and explained that it would take a little longer than expected. I was also asked if I wanted anything, like water, before the cutting started. Steve worked away making nice conversation throughout. He finished off by flat ironing my hair and double-checking the cut and fixing and finishing where needed.
I liked that his attention was on me, no checking his phone or extended conversations with others or other clients to tend to. He was paged once and apologized for being called away. The conversation was nice, but I think I'm one of the odd balls who would be perfectly happy if we sat in silence and I just watched him cut my hair.
So, why 4 stars instead of 5? A couple of small things. When I checked in with reception, they just sent me upstairs. There were two of them, so someone could have escorted me or at least given me some instructions. When I got up to the 3rd floor, Steve asked if I wanted a robe, which I did, and someone went to get it for me, but I also wanted to hang my jacket, so I went down to the 2nd floor anyway then back up the stairs. When it was time to pay, they take credit card, which is great, but there was no tip option on the point of sale system. She mentioned afterward that she could have added money on and paid it out to me in cash but didn't offer to reenter the transaction when I expressed my surprise.
I'm definitely going back to Steve for my next cut!
