  • perhaps i had overly high expectations for manic, but i left the cafe feeling disappointed. i was really excited to find some intelligentsia in toronto after just having moved from chicago (the most local home of these beans). plus i had heard many many rave reviews. 2 over-pulled, bitter doubles made by 2 different baristas, a grungy-towards-dirty atmosphere, and some bored-yet-not-interested staff later, and i'm wary. i'd try it again though, just for the beans and their beautiful machine. maybe short and take-out?
