Not to sound harsh, but I expect exquisite tiramisu from an Italian restaurant. Tiramisu is not an excessive amount of soaked ladyfingers with a teeny bit of mascarpone cheese. Nor is tiramisu served in a mound on a plate due to the tiramisu being scooped. If it ain't broke, don't fix it ... what is wrong with the classic sliced tiramisu? I wish Cafe Porta Alba would figure out the ladyfinger-to-mascarpone ratio and slice and serve its tiramisu. This made me sad!
Seafood pasta was cooked nicely but was bland. The foccacia bread as an appetizer was pretty bland as well; it was essentially plain pizza crust. My husband had the rustica pizza. Out of everything we ate, that was the tastiest, although it wasn't anything to write home about. The two of us were also in agreeance that the limoncello after-dinner drink tasted like Pinesol.
Our server was nice, but I don't see Cafe Porta Alba on my list of restaurants to visit again.
