The first time I went was a year ago. The doctor I had was extremely cold and impersonal. She had no real bedside manner at all. I was so uncomfortable that I had no plans to ever go back.
A couple weeks ago, I had no choice and made an appointment for severe abdominal pain and only could get in to see the NP, Luba. I was called back into the room quickly enough, but then had to wait 45 minutes for her to actually come into the room. She was completely dismissive of every concern, while calling me "dear" or "sweetie" or "honey." I was literally in tears due to the pain, and she told me to take Aleve. (Which was interesting in and of itself, because she told me not to take naproxen and take Aleve instead. Newsflash: naproxen is the generic name for Aleve.)
I told her that it felt like my ovaries were being stabbed and that I was sure that there was a cyst or something. Her response? "Oh, honey. You don't know what your ovaries feel like."
Fast forward a week later, when I went to a real doctor who actually listened and gave a damn: I got an ultrasound and sure enough I have two gigantic freakin cysts on my ovaries.
So much for being woman-centric. Never again. Please find somewhere else if you have anything complex.
