We tried to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra here. Price for tickets was reasonable, $61.50. I had been to the the arena years ago, when it was first built. I enjoyed Cher and parking was easy. I hadn't been there since. We will not go again. Traffic was horrible. Could see mobs of people on their way to the arena. Saw one sign for event parking $10. Never did find the event parking, saw the garage parking however the lot was full. We planned 45 minutes to park and get to our seats, we thought that would be reasonable . We missed the show and spent over an hour and a half looking for parking and then trying to get back to the highway to get home. We kept following the traffic and the direction that the cops were sending us. We drove all around West Gate thinking that is where we had been directed. After all that is where everyone else was going.
The huge lot was packed. We saw three parking spaces where people were leaving at the time, seems everyone parked there for the concert. The kids that were there that were supposed to be helping with parking were simple milling around. We did see where people were driving over the curb to get in a dirt area to park. We saw a shuttle (golf cart) taking people to the arena. One poor person was hanging on the back for dear life. We only saw the shuttle in the masses twice. Seen more rickshaws at Renaissance Fair taking people to the parking lot after. Needless to say we will not be going back here for an event in the future.
