| - Opening Night April 26, 2018. Weather was hot, very hot. We arrived just as the gates were open. Lines were short but fairly confusing.
Line to the right is cash only, line up the middle is re-entry, line on the left is pre-purchased tickets but also VIP but no idea how to handle VIP and Groupons were throwing the staff off also.
Security using wands on all entering patrons and occasionally checking bags. Mine was not checked the first time but was checked on re-entry.
First truck we wanted to try was PhillyFornia. Easily located right by the entrance! I ordered the Philly Fries and was absolutely thrilled! Rib-eye was nicely grilled, cheese sauce had an additional kick to it, fries were salty and crispy. YUM!
Next up was Strip Chezze for one of their pizza grilled cheese sandwiches (Pair-O-Dice- $8.00). My friend loved it and ordered three more before the evening was over!
Now for something sweet. Friend went to Glorious Donuts and got a sliced donut stuffed with ice cream, covered in chocolate ganache and topped with Fruity Pebbles ($7.00). It was indeed, glorious!
I went to Roni Macaroni and got a small Buffalo Mac ($12.00) good but pricey for mac and cheese.
We then needed to retreat into the casino to escape the blazing heat and soak up some AC. Big, cold bottles of water at the gift shop for $2.50!
We left the casino as the sun dipped down and the GAFF grounds were absolutely more enjoyable but also way more crowded.
We hunted down the Chimney Cakes (tucked way in the corner by Woody's) and got a cinnamon sugar cake to go ($8.00) very good but would have been more enjoyable if it was stuffed with something instead of just $8.00 for an empty cylinder of deep-fried pastry.
We had fun, we tasted some great food and enjoyed a night outside. Probably will not return for another night this time.
Looked very fun and enjoyable for families. Rides and kid friendly food available. Saw lots of couples so good place for a date night. A little something for everyone, I just wish the event was spread out a little more so the crowds had more room to roam and expand.
