  • I just recently attempted to purchase a chandelier from Chintz & Company, but the whole process ended up being one sorry mess. You see, a month ago, my husband and I went into the store, and tried perusing through their very expensive but very unique collection (which by the way, could REALLY use an organizer or a visual merchandiser because its one huge mess). We spotted a chandelier we really liked, and decided to buy it for our dining area. We told the sales associate we wanted it, and paid for it, after which they pretty much took it down from the ceiling and 'packaged' it for us. This 'packaging' was absolutely ridiculous for a such a seemingly high-end store. Imagine a giant chandelier wrapped up in foam and packing tape into this really odd-shaped ball. No lie. So here I was, dubious as all hell with this ridiculous packaging but I had already paid. We took it home, unwrapped it and tried to hang it up only to find parts missing. Crystals strings were missing everywhere, as was a piece of hardware that you need when you hang it from your ceiling. I was frustrated. I called Chintz, and they said they could not find the parts anywhere. They said my best option would be bring to it in, and they would place an order for a brand new one for me. Well thats nice! A brand new chandelier for the full price I paid, not a store display! I exited the store without expressing any sarcasm or frustration. I was hopeful. Fast forward a month. I receive a call from Chintz saying my chandelier was in. Happily, my husband and I went to pick up the chandelier that we were waiting a month for. A giant brown box was waiting for us, with the order details written on it. We brought it home, opened the box in the middle of our living room only to find it WAS THE WRONG CHANDELIER! So completely, utterly RIDICULOUS! We are totally done dealing with this store. They need to get their **** together because ALL they have is a giant messy yet beautiful collection of things populating their building. Nothing else in that store is worth your time or energy. I am not sure if it is their purchasing person, their sales staff, their merchandise delivery guy, or ALL of them, but they need an OVERHAUL. Just ONE item I tried to buy from them, and what a load of trouble! Needless to say, we are taking this damn chandelier back, demanding our money back and taking our business somewhere else more organized. Do not waste your time, money and energy here.
