| - Would not recommend. Will not return.
We traveled roughly an hour and a half out at the recommendation of a friend. It did not live up to the hype. Several factors led to a rather lackluster outing. We'll start with the pros:
One time fee ($5) for all day air tank fills
Actual referee staff was friendly and helpful
Unfortunately that's where the positives end.
Expensive field fee (~$35) for a day pass
Poor map design. One team was almost always spawn trapped.
On site technician staff was friendly, but unhelpful
"Briefings" were short, or non-existent
Objectives were uninteresting, impossible, or absurd. Every match was essentially TDM.
Management (anyone not actually out on the fields) was snarky, tone-deaf, disrespectful, and all around very unprofessional.
Our group was constantly getting split up because (in a very loud staging area) we couldn't hear that a "briefing" was starting and were denied entry because we weren't present to listen to whatever drivel was presented. Worse yet, management was mocking when we expressed concerns, and I was told that if we were late again, we would be denied entry to any match for the rest of the day. $35 is quite a hefty fee to sit in the staging area and wait. We decided to cut our losses half-way through our paid-for time and just pack up and leave. We won't be returning.
I don't understand the glowing reviews for this place. If you go here, you'll leave at best, indifferent. At worst, angry and frustrated.
