I very much enjoyed dinner at NY's Best Italian Bistro this weekend. It's a cute little place tucked away on 73rd street with plenty of parking which is a plus in my book.
By Scottsdale standards, it's not a "fancy" or "upscale" restaurant per se, but it can't be considered a dive either. It's moderately nice from a décor perspective.
My date and I were seated toward the door and my biggest complaint would be that the table was very, very small and cramped. I had to put my purse under the table on the floor.
I asked for bread and they brought us a huge serving of warm, soft, delicious Italian bread. Very yeast-y (not sure that's a real word but let's go with it) tasting and fresh- came with olive oil for dipping. Really enjoyable!
I had an absolutely stellar glass of moscato too!
My date ordered the shrimp scampi and was pleased with the taste and the fact that it was a huge serving of food. I didn't sample it, but the shrimp were big & juicy and it looked awesome.
I ordered the eggplant parmesan and it was hands down the best I've ever had. It was cooked & seasoned well and there was a generous helping of melted mozzarella cheese atop the eggplant. The best way to my heart is to not be skimpy with the cheese- yay! The serving of spaghetti that came with the eggplant wasn't as al-dente as I usually prefer, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
We were too stuffed to order dessert but they do have cannoli on the menu (a personal fave of mine) and I *will* be back to try it!
