| - What a giant relief! Finally a dentist who treated me like I was actually important.
If you read my previous dental review (we won't name names...) you'll know that it was about time I found a dentist I could trust. Let's just say I've had my fair share of horrific experiences. I came to Yelp to find someone worthy of scraping my pearly whites and I was thrilled when I found Downtown Phoenix Dental (AND they even took my insurance).
Calling to make my appointment was super easy...called in, asked if they took my insurance, was assured that they were preferred under my insurance, made an appointment for less than two weeks away, gave minor info over the phone, was provided with important info about the office (where to park, etc.), was immediately (like within one minute) emailed any paperwork I needed, filled out said paperwork online and emailed it back asap. SO. DAMN. EASY.
When the day came for my appointment I have to admit that I was slightly nervous. There just seem to be so many shady dentists out there. I parked in the garage (which was easy to find) and took advantage of the free valet. The valet guy even directed me to the dental office. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the receptionist. She welcomed me and asked if I was Kerry. That definitely helped put me at ease.
The office itself is great looking. Clean, open, and modern. Just what you would picture going downtown to get your teeth cleaned.
After waiting a brief two or three minutes, Heather the hygienist greeted me and we got to work. Heather was absolutely great. She was so genuine and friendly and we immediately began chatting. You know it's a good conversation when I'm trying to respond with her scraping away in my mouth....
After finishing her duties (which took around 10 minutes or so) she assured me that my teeth were in excellent condition and then hung around and chatted until the dentist came over.
Dr. Ben clearly had done his research...he came over knowing my name (which seems obvious, but you'd be surprised how lame dentists can be), my place of work, and that I was referred by Yelp. Pretty impressive! He looked over my teeth and also complimented my hygiene. We chatted a little and he really made me feel comfortable. It was so nice to walk out without any cavities (especially considering I had suspiciously had a cavity every six months with my old dentist).
I am so happy to have found Downtown Phoenix Dental and will definitely be back. It feels great to have found a dentist and staff who actually care about their patients and who seem deserving of my trust. Whether you live downtown or not, I would highly recommend this office.
