| - When you decide to go to Indigo Imp Brewery, you're embarking on a quest!
1. Their tasting room is only open on Fridays from noon until 7pm. For those of us who normally leave work at 5, it's a nice excuse to dip out a bit early and scurry through down town traffic to make it in time for at least two beers.
2. There are directions how to find the Imp's brewing liar on their web site. The first time I went I felt like I was on a scavenger hunt for craft beer. The sketchy style warehouse it's in has a bright orange door in back of the building. Once inside, KEEP GOING! Around the corner is a wondrous painting of the Imp. That's where the liquid treasure lies!
3. Walking into the brewery, I get an exclusive yet cozy, man cave vibe. There's a bar with a few taps and their bottled beers as well. It also has lawn bowling court, and a cozier seating- adorned with coffee tables sofas (taken from the back of a van?)
4. The beer is awesome and they have a wide variety. I think it's mainly unfiltered. The blonde bombshell is probably their go-to most drinkable beer. You can get 2oz samples from the tap for $1, or a full beer served in a king sized goblet. I will say, some of their beers are surprisingly sour-the winter solstice was not an average dark "Christmas ale."
5. The two Ohio natives who own Indigo Imp are so passionate and personable. They really take care to produce unique quality beers. In every 6 pack, there is one bottle that is waxed dipped. I told the two owners, opening that wax sealed beer is a good test if you SHOULD have another beer.
*Side note: There is no food. Pretzels and Hershey's kisses for the hungry, and Ohio City Soda for the sober.
