  • I bookmarked this salon a few weeks ago since I was on the lookout for a new hairstylists. I moved to Phoenix and let me tell you the struggle is real when it comes to finding someone who can take proper care of your hair and can guide you in the process especially at home care. Me, I personally don't do my hair. I can say I don't trust myself when it comes to doing it because I will/and have messed it up. My problem was finding someone who actually knows how to do ethnic hair. I had went to a different salon (Ulta @ Tatum) and they really messed up my hair, it was a disaster. I booked an appointment and the hair dresser didn't have time to finish (Wish she had told me earlier but she didn't) so I end up walking out of the salon with very damp hair. Damp hair for me is not good because it will shrink and start breaking off when I want to comb it. PLUS, when she was washing my hair..she didnt comb the product through so when dried, it was somewhat dreaded ( it was dreaded in many different parts). The lady had told me to come back on Wednesday ( I was there on a Monday) but there was absolutely no way I was going to my job on Tuesday looking the way I looked. Fortunately, I actually scheduled a hair appointment with RSalon( after I left Ulta) and was penciled in before work. This time I stressed how I specifically needed someone who has experience with ethnic hair as I am African American and Puerto Rican mixed. The receptionist booked me with Niza and I am so glad she did. Niza is like the match made in heaven hairdresser. He KNOWS and UNDERSTANDS hair. I can tell you I can trust this man with my hair because at the end of the appointment he will have anyone looking fabulous. I was skeptical at first having a male stylists but some of them are on point when it comes to hair as if he has been in my shoes throughout my hair journey. Niza is friendly, he makes you feel comfortable and at ease ( I don't know about you but I am always a bit terrified the first appointment with a new stylist). The appointment was longer than I expected but only because he had to detangle the mess from a previous stylist which I understand because he needed to bring life back to my hair. **HIGHLY Recommend. ** He is truly a hidden gem in Phoenix. Definitely will be coming back.
