i had been to spaces years ago, but hadn't really ventured back since. last night was the opening of "hypernature", a show focusing using recycled materials. spaces seems to do pretty good business- the place was packed with people of various backgrounds all wanting a piece of the artistic pie.
being that the art was all created by already used materials, you find some interesting displays. i really liked the tree in the front of the gallery- all wrapped in yarn and embroidery thread. my friend pointed out it kind of reminded her of dr. seuss, and she would love to have it in her house. i completely agree, it was pretty sweet.
i need to stop by spaces more often, since it's right over in the viaduct area and i forget it's there. i wasn't into the entire exhibit, but it was interesting.
spaces itself is a great space, seemingly adaptable to a variety of exhibits. not too shabby.
