  • Don't let the mediocre exterior or the location fool you, Mr Tea could possibly be a potential hidden gem for organic boba enthusiasts. Upon walking into the entryway, you're warmly welcomed with simple greetings and patiently given a detailed overview of their menu. Mr Tea claims to use absolutely no powders in their drinks, as an example, for their Peanut Milk Tea they showed us actual grounded peanuts and not powder. There are also different types of sweetness for your drinks based on preference (100%, 50%, 0% for iced or extra/standard/less for hot). They were also kind enough to give us samples of their hot "kung fu tea" a la jasmine tea (warm and not so bitter) and iced plum green tea (cold, but not so sweet) for an interesting contrast. They were neither overbearing in bitterness/sweetness and I would definitely try the iced plum green tea again for a revisit. When we had our squad of friends come by however, they had us try their Peanut Milk Tea as well and even gave us the fresh leftovers from the blender too! I ordered their Double Cup which is basically a cup divided with 2 flavors of your choice aka some kind of Hybrid Boba. On one side I ordered the Coffee Matcha Latte and the other being Strawberry Matcha Latte, 50% sweetness. I honestly liked the Coffee Matcha better since I liked how the flavors tasted just the right amount of bittersweet and how they use cold brew coffee, however only very subtle hints of matcha. I would also compare it to Starbucks Double Shot, strangely enough, just without the diabeetus. Strawberry Matcha was sadly too sweet to me, it reminded me of strawberry Kit Kats and I would probably prefer to drink this during the summertime. I don't really care for the boba though; not bad but it didn't have that oomph. Take note that if you order their drinks with the Lightbulb cup you get a discount on your drink if you bring the cup on your next visit.
