| - MEH! i have experienced way better! I dont know if it would make a difference or not, but my boyfriend and i went to windsor arms for high tea with a voucher i've purchased on dealfind. SO, made reservations as it is mandatory. it is a very nice place. there are several tea rooms and they were all different themed. some are victorian style, some are darker with deep red drapes, overall a very nice place. the atmosphere is elegant and the waiter who served us was always smiling.
the big disappointment was the food. the day we went was a friday afternoon, the place was packed, every table was occupied. we ordered our teas, but it came in a metal tea pot! for those who know, thats a big no-no. tea tastes different brewed from a metal teapot and not ceramic. we asked the waiter and he said they ran out of teapots. OH WELL. we didn't have any choice. the teas were nice, we had fun looking at the crazy menu of all different types of teas. it was very informative so if you dont know anything about tea, the menu will tell you.
so the platter came in 3-tiers. by the way the stand was wobbly. so we had the scones. it was overrated =( i was quite sad because i was very much looking forward to the great scones. i didn't enjoy the goat cheese and the raison ones, the butter scone was just ok. i can get that from a local bakery shop. then the mini sandwiches. i mean, it is not something difficult to make... i can make them too. but they did taste pretty good. it had assortments of smoked salmon, cucumber, ham and fish roes. it looked cute too. but the dessert part. YUCK. i didn't like most of them. the only ok ones were the macaron and the brownie. but they were SO tiny i could't even share it with my boyfriend. one tiny bite and it was gone.
overall, i wouldnt pay $48 each person for this place. i think morocco and even uptown Ruelo has better high tea than Windsor Arms. sorry i dont think i will come back again.
