  • There are many great restaurants in the area, many of which have a unique spin or experience tied to them. None of them match the excitement and uniqueness in my personal opinion than a visit to The Melting Pot for an evening of fondue fun for a special occasion or a happy hour! I wanted to do something special for my girlfriend and though I know The Melting Pot is a chain restaurant, I knew that a special evening of fondue at a slow pace in a romantic environment would be perfect, and it was. They have several rooms with booths throughout though my favorite is the Lover's Lane, which are private rooms with only two seats side-by-side. We both went for the four-course meal where we both started with a cheese fondue dish (class alpine) followed by salads (both of us ordered the house salad). We then had a "create your own" entree (pick three meats) where I chose teriyaki-marinated sirloin, premium filet mignon, and herb-crusted chicken. My girlfriend ordered herb-crated chicken, all-natural chicken, and Atlantic salmon filet. Finally, we wrapped up with a Yin & Yang (half dark chocolate and half white chocolate). Every dish was delicious and filling! Though we dipped items into the cheese and chocolate and dipped the meats into the seasoned court bouillon, our server Jason was very attentive to us and continued to give us advice and pointers. The food, ambiance, and customer service were amazing!! The only negative is that the price is quite hefty though the following two paragraphs will highlight a few ways to make the most bang for your buck. The Melting Pot hosts special events regularly and a bargain-priced happy hour. Check this link for special deals (https://www.meltingpot.com/scottsdale-az/melting-pot-events.aspx) from Wednesday Wine-Down (every Wednesday), Ladies Night Out (1st Tuesday of month), and special graduation deal where grads eat free during the month of June. The Sip & Dip Happy Hour includes signature Sip & Dip cocktails ($5.95), select wines ($4.95/5 oz or $7.95/8 oz), $1 off any AZ craft beer, and my personal favorites: chocolate fondue ($4.95), cheese fondue ($4.95), and salad ($2.95). If you don't need the main dish, go for ALL-DAY happy hour in the bar area 7 days per week. Finally, there are some great discounts available. Check in on Yelp for a free dessert with purchase of 2 courses. You can use the Entertainment Book for one of four different deals (25% off 4 course dinner with purchase of a 2nd on Friday or Saturday, 50% off 4 course dinner with purchase of a 2nd Sunday through Thursday, 4 course meal with endless entree for $36.95 per person, or 20-30% off a large party depending on day of week). Next, you can purchase a $75 gift certificate at One Sweet Deal AZ (http://onesweetdealaz.com) for only $50 good through 11/1/17. You can also write a review after visiting and receive a $25 Dip Card from your server. Moral of the story...you don't have to pay a fortune to enjoy an amazing meal at a restaurant like The Melting Pot.
