| - Kaya is one of those places that I've always wanted to try, yet every time I tried to go, it would be super packed and I'd have to walk right back out. Finally after walking in again for the zillionth time on a Sunday afternoon, the bar was empty!
The hubby ordered the Cuban and I, of course, got the Chicken and Waffle. I am a sucker for chicken and waffles; it's hard for me to ever get anything else when there's chicken and waffles on the menu. So the food tasted exactly as I had imagined their food to taste like: rich, bold, flavorful, and oh so yummy. However, I felt the food was a bit too rich after a while. Halfway through the meal, it left me craving something fresh. Despite this, I absolutely loved Kaya's take on the chicken and waffle. The chicken had a spicy batter and the dish was topped with green onions and bacon, which added a little extra punch of flavor and differing textures to add some contrast to the dish. The Cuban was a simple sandwich, but it was done right. The bread was toasted to the perfect level of crispiness.
With brunch being this good, I am looking forward to coming back and trying out dinner!
