The atmosphere is dive for sure, but the tiki theme bumps it up to charmingly dive.
The bartenders can be gruff, but if you joke with them they actually have a sense of humor (think Dick's last resort, where the servers are supposed to be rude :-)).
My only complaint is the price of drinks, other than beer. The beer is very reasonable, but for a dive bar, I expect wells to be STRONG. They are the price of any other place and are average to weak. Also the shots are expensive... like 6-7 bucks. The price of a shot at other places is usually the same or a little less than the drink that the liquor is used for.
And... there is no happy hour to balance it out.
Some complain about cash only, but I like that it helps me stay in my limit. :-)
Overall, I will go once a month or two, but not as a go to.
