  • First experience at a steakhouse! My bff took me here for my birthday along with her bf and my bf. Our server was Freddy and he was amazing! The presentation of meats gives you an overview of their cuts and had great information to help you choose what meat sounds good to you- which frankly is like ALL of them - as well as showcases how big they are. Apps ordered: Ricotta Agnolotti, American Wagyu Carpaccio, Scallops -The agnolotti is pasta but these ones were soft, pillowy, tasty doughy pieces of goodness. You have to try it with all the different sauces and garnishes on the plate. Every bite will be different from the last. -The beef carpaccio was the BEST I've ever had. I've always thought the one at BRIO was great but STEAK's was far superior in taste and the meat was just melt-in-your-mouth despite being a little thicker-cut than Brio's. -Scallops can be added to your entree order or ordered as an appetizer and we did the latter. It came with 3 pieces and let me tell you, these scallops were HUGE. They were seasoned simply but the cooking was executed perfectly and I have to say, these were the BEST I've had too! Entrees: Roasted Beef Wellington for 2, AmeriKobe Filet, Kobe Rib Cap. Sauces: Worcestershire Demi-glace and Chimichurri The highlight of the meats has to be the RIB CAP for me. It was very flavorful and soooo tender with a good amount of fat that it melts in your mouth. In my opinion, it didn't need any sauces to accompany it. Second fav was the FILET, delicious with the chimichurri. Again, meat was so soft and tender even though it's lean, you don't have to chew much, and none of that tough gristle on it either. The BEEF WELLINGTON, split between two people, was a good portion per person. The first bite was delicious but after eating more of it, the flavors started to get tiring. The mirepoix (which looked like a sauce rub) in between the meat and pastry didn't stand out very much for me. I ate it with both sauces. The filet of meat itself just wasn't as good as the others previously mentioned. The root veggies were delish though. Great for a first time experience since it IS considered GR's specialty but I wouldn't order it again. Sides: Truffle mac & cheese, Baked Potato, Potato Puree, Bone Marrow These are worth mentioning. The potato puree was the best for me. Doesn't come with any gravy on it or anything but the taste was so buttery and on-point it's best on its own. The baked potato is HUGE. I didn't have any but the toppings looked good and I'm sure they wouldn't mess up on a baked potato. Bone marrow had this gremolata kind of sauce on it which was too salty for my taste that I had to scrape it off to the side. Bone marrow is definitely not for everyone, the texture can be offputting (it's like eating fat off of steak lol) but I do love it so I enjoyed the flavors of it. Lastly, I wasn't fond of the mac & cheese cause of the truffle oil, personally. Bff enjoyed it though. Crispy on the top and gooey on the bottom. Desserts: Sticky Toffee Pudding, Mascarpone cheesecake with candied kumquats As everyone raves, that sticky toffee pudding is a life-changer. The bf even agreed it was one of the best desserts he's EVER had. It was warm, crispy, sticky, thick, moist, not overly sweet, dense; paired well with the ice cream. I loved that it was quite a big portion for dessert that it was enough for the four of us at the end. The mascarpone cheesecake was also decent, not like your traditional NY style cheesecake, it's more light and airy. The lemon jellies were refreshingly tart. If you're not much of an alcoholic drinker like me, I suggest getting the Passion fruit green tea made from The Republic of Tea. It was so refreshing and tasty. Service from Freddy was just perfect, he was very informative, he's such a great personality and was engaging in conversation throughout. Since you're there for a long period of time, you want someone open to talk and put forward that enthusiasm in getting to know you and the table, IMO. He knew his stuff. He made the experience all the more memorable. All the staff there was both professional and friendly.
