Arrived the Saturday night of this past Easter weekend around 11 pm. I have been having seizure symptoms which have not been diagnosed. A wicked migraine accompanies these seizure like episodes which is why i finally decided to go to the hospital.
I got there and gave them all my info. Told them all my symptoms. They took me out of the very loud secondary waiting room (rapid assessment) and put me in the hallway on a gurney and hooked me up to an IV for my migraine but then proceeded to leave me there for 4 hours without anyone speaking to me or taking the IV out of my arm.
Finally the doctor came and didn't even talk to me about my seizure symptoms. I spoke to a nurse and asked if it would be possible for an MRI and she told me unless I had cancer I wasn't getting one. So why exactly did I come to emerge terrified?? I'm not one to go to the hospital for a migraine. I go home and lay in a hot shower or a dark room- not on a gurney in a brightly lit hallway with no privacy with loud people walking around on their cellphones.
This was one of the worst experiences I ever had in an emergency room. You don't turn patients away who are having seizure symptoms and tell them MRI's are for seriously sick cancer patients and not for people with abnormal brain activity ruining their lives. Just treat what's easy and say bye isn't the way doctors and nurses should be dealing with things.
I would rather be like the USA- get what you pay for. At least there you're paying the doctors to run necessary tests to help figure out what's wrong with you. I shouldn't have to go right with my family
Doctor for a referral to some
Migraine clinic to get an MRI to see if I'm having seizures or not. That should have been dealt with in emerge.
Worst hospital emerge ever!
