| - Update (Jul 31, 2017) - We were offered to visit LC again by the management there due to our bad experience during Summerlicious. This time the patio is now fully licensed and we were able to sit outside and drink. The music situation was a bit better - still rock type of music but less aggressive. We had food from the regular menu, and I thought my Common Burger tasted good, and the Turkey Burger my friend had was great. Unfortunately, the beer situation was pretty similar and none of their in-house stuff really impressed us (we are both IPA fans). We did however, really liked the Blood Brother's Shumei IPA which was available there in bottles. All in all, it was an OK meal and definitely much better than our first visit.

(Old review) When I heard Liberty Commons is part of the Big Rock Brewery and that it is in collaboration with the O&B family group of restaurants, I was pretty certain it was going to be at least acceptable. The décor was modern and I thought it was a very nice space for drinks and food.
We ordered a 4-beer tasting flight for the each of us. All the beers were average, and none of them stood out and I have definitely had better elsewhere.
The Summerlicious menu was being offered and we all ordered it. Both of my friends absolutely hated the ham hock starter, which reminded them of cat food (and smelled like it too); my ale smoked salmon was okay. For the main course, we all had the BBQ platter. Again, it was just ok. I thought my ribs could be a little bit more moist and tender, but the brisket kind of made up for it. The coleslaw and potato salad tasted good. The summer triffle dessert was extremely forgettable.
What really bothered me were the little things that spoiled the experience. The restaurant decided to play aggressive hard rock/punk type of music at very loud volume. It was not a conducive vibe/environment to relax or even chat with people, and definitely not family friendly. On top of that, our server made off-coloured remarks and somehow managed to offend both my friends who are some of the most easy going people I know. I think my 2-star rating is a bit on the generous side - more like 1.5 stars.
Overall, we did not have a good experience here and it is safe to say that we probably wont be visiting LC again.
