WOW!! I am the QUEEN of online shopping...always order online and pick up at the stores!! Saves sooo much time...EXCEPT HERE!! I was SHOCKED at their process!! Everyone needs to know before they take the time to online order their method!!
Working for an airline Frys Electronics on Baseline/I-10 was close and on the way home to get my sons b-day present. Went online today and ordered a gear shifter for his xbox and waited for the email to say it was ready. When I entered the store (customer service blocks the entryway) I asked them where to pick up online orders. They told me I had to wait in line at the registers and anyone could help! EVERY store I have ordered online for store pick up has a SPECIAL desk to get those items EXCEPT FRYS! The idea of ordering online is to SAVE TIME!! So... I went to the line which was over 25-30 people and waited the 20 minutes to get to the cashier. Once there he asked for the email print out that my order was ready. I asked if he couldn't just find it by my last name (due to there was only about 7 items on the back shelf for pick up and I could see it sitting there). He told me NO he HAD to have the email. With all those poor people waiting he proceeded to chat with another cashier while I found the email on my phone. I told him what the item was (and it had a LARGE PAPER WITH MY NAME ON IT) behind him but he told me again he had to have the email.
BUT...after I showed him the email and he retrieved the item he asked for my credit card. I told him I paid online and he said they just ask for a credit card...and he didn't know why.... but they never actually charge a card until you get there!! I asked him WHY I entered all that info online and he said he had no clue. I have had the online pick up store ask to just see the card but never have to run it there too!! WHY DID I ORDER ONLINE WHEN IT SAVED ME ABSOLUTELY NO TIME!??? Why no pick up counter?? (and they had over TEN counters open and about 10 employees standing around behind them just chatting!)
I even spoke to the manager at the store before I left to be sure it really was the way they do it!! He said that is just their policy in case someone changes their mind before picking up?? Once again....WHY DID I ORDER ONLINE?? if any of you have been to Frys Electronics you also know the line I am talking about.... the LONG LINE between aisles of junk you have to wait thru like an amusement park attraction maze??!! Once again...WHY ORDER ONLINE if you have to wait thru all that???
Just letting you know ALL THEIR COMPETITORS allow you to order online....pay online...an pick up QUICKLY at a SPECIAL DESK your items!! Since most of those places price match...it makes NO SENSE to EVER shop at Frys' Electronics again!! This is 2016.... Cyber shopping is the way of the future and they are living in Bedrock still!! Just FYI... DONT ORDER ONLINE!!! :) Happy Cyber shopping everyone!! :)
