| - I have known about San Tan and have gone years in the past, but after about a 5-6 year hiatus, I have gone back.
Mind you - I am surprised why. It's not for the beer. I can't honestly say I am a huge fan of the beer. I like the HefeWeizen the best - which is a bit unusual for me as I am normally a red/brown ale type of person, but the Devil's Ale - just doesn't do it for me. Everything I have tried here except the Hef and Mr. Pineapple have been too hoppy/outside my tastes. (Mr. Pineapple too sweet.)
So, I went for breakfast. Wow. I was surprised. I ordered the New Mexican Skillet with the short ribs. First, the portion size is HUGE. You will have enough to take home. The meat was very flavorful and tender, and the roasted onion and poblanos a perfect compliment. Came with eggs and hash browns. My only complaint - the amount of grease pooled at the bottom of the plate with the hashbrowns was out of control. Eat off the top, I guess. I know this wasn't just circumstance, as my friend ordered the same thing and received a puddle of grease too.
Regardless, the meat was so good and the peppers and onions, I would order this again in a heartbeat.
I have been searching for a brunch place in Chandler - and my only real complain about San Tan is that it isn't. I would love to beg for them to open later, open the doors, have brunch specials till 2 or 3 and have some good music so we can all enjoy our weekends with them. The search continues. But until then, I will be back for some breakfast.
