| - WORTH EVER PENNY.
We wanted to check out a show while we were in Vegas but made no commitments in advance. I had looked up Celine's show tickets and prices were a tad steep for the limited seating that was left. We went back and forth the morning of the show between Celine and a Cirque show and just decided to nab the Celine tickets. Hey YOLO right?
It was a hot Tuesday but we decided to hoof it over to The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. It took a lot of walking and navigating through the shopping area to get there. It's located INSIDE the casino, like right on the gambling floor.
We had front row seats in the first balcony. There was a bit of a delay, (which Celine later explained was her fault for getting to the venue late!) but the show began soon enough.
From the opening to the encore, I was mesmerized the entire night, eyes wide and shining like a child on Christmas morning. I shed tears, more than once, I will not confirm how many times though. These were all the songs I grew up listening to. From my tweens to adulthood. Celine was the soundtrack of my life (I know, I know, but just let me have this moment).
My Heart Will Go On is a breathtaking number. YOU WILL HAVE THE FEELS.
Celine spends a lot of time talking to the audience, which I guess, by a couple of reviews here, some people find boring, but I loved the interaction and her life stories and her French Canadian accent and her self deprecating humor!
She's amazing, a true vocal powerhouse and a strong woman. You would have to be if you were going to last in this business this long. She's a mother and recently a widow, and yet she continues to use all these life events to move forward.
Go see this show.
