The staff is really quite nice. Since the front has been renovated it looks and feels modern. But, once you go upstairs to the rooms, a feeling of nostalgia takes over. It's oddly comfortable.
Regardless of all that, I visited the hospital because my mother-in-law was in to have her kidney removed and she was treated really well. The doctors kept her posted on how she was doing and the nurses came whenever they were needed.
As for the patients, as it has been mentioned by others, it really is teaming with Ukrainians, Slovakians and Poles. It was really interesting to see.
Regardless, it is a well run hospital that should be top-of mind, if ever needed.
