In many ways, I remain an analog guy in a digital world. I love my ipad and my online reviews, but I also love the nice feel of paper between my fingers while I'm reading. I also enjoy browsing through shelves of magazines that I previously didn't know existed, making a purchase, and then reading up on what I may have missed.
My only complaint in these days of Loonie - Dollar parity (or is it supremacy?) is that the listed magazine (and book) prices are still usually a full dollar higher in Canada. Someone is making a lot of money off this long time practice that feels like a scam in today's world. ow back to the good part...
I really enjoyed my stroll through the shelves of the Daily Globe Newshop. I avoided the back "girlie" section and concentrated on newspapers, current affairs, travel, and other genres too numerous to mention. It was also fun watching the other folks here in this very clean and well organized Newsstand. I ended up with a Calgary Herald and a Monocle Newspaper and could have easily purchased more reading material. But tomorrow is another day...
