We volunteered to help serve a meal here a few months ago. The staff is so helpful, organized and on top of things!
We went with Isabella's Dream Team to serve dinner. When we arrived, the RMH team gave us a brief overview of how to talk and interact with the families and people coming through the kitchen while we'd be there. Everything that they do in this house is designed to help families through some of the very worst times. Very straight forward directions, and an open kitchen with tools, ovens, stove tops, whatever you can think of. They also have a pantry filled with mixers and smaller tools and dry goods. After dinner was served and cleaned up, we got a tour of the Ronald McDonald House and it's beautiful and everything is laid out for the most comfort for families. I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the house and the wonderful programs and help that they provide for families. There's even a teen room downstairs where teens can go and be just that - there are video games, bean bag chairs, bright colors and all sorts of fun nooks and crannies all over the house.
If you get a chance, please look into helping here. They even provide fresh cookies for the families every day - you could volunteer on the cookie patrol!
