| - Having been fortunate to visit many Michelin starred restaurants I tend to judge restaurants based on quality of food, service, and value, and and most importantly at this level of restaurant how they elevate dishes.
First of all, and the restaurant itself is nice, and the service is as you would expect from a prestigious restaurant. We ordered the Forbes tasting menu which at the time was about $300 per person if you didn't opt for the wine pairing.
This included a king crab and golden osetra caviar dish, their signature soup, an a5 wagyu, lobster, and ravioli with roasted veggie main, and a chocolate decadence dessert.
To begin with the dishes themselves tased good, with the exception of the main: the wagyu itself was average, and the lobster meat was sweet but tough and likely overcooked. This miss in itself is enough to demerit the restaurant a star, and then when you get to dessert some simple chocolate mousse and sorbet with a sprinkling of crumbles doesn't seem worthy enough to call it an exquisite meal.
Overall the taste of the meal was fine, and there were some errors in the cooking of the food and and the dessert wasn't elevated at all. For the price of 300pp probably not worth the money.
